“I’ve been dreaming about becoming a wedding cinematographer since I was a young kid.”
You’ve probably seen this on many About pages, but not how my story goes.
I kind of tripped into wedding videography, actually. I had no dreams about becoming a wedding cinematographer until I had the opportunity to film at a few weddings for a commercial client.
I completely fell in love with the connections I made with each couple. There’s something so special about building such profound connections, and I’m honored I’ve been able to turn my passion into a full-time career.
My relationship with filming weddings was not love at first sight. But sometimes, accidentally falling in love is so much better. Now, I fall in love with every wedding in Florida and worldwide I have the honor to film.
There’s so much history and emotion leading up to a wedding day. I am inspired by every couple I work with, and getting to know them on such a personal level deeply affects my artistry. I don't like to stick to what I know simply because it's easy. My couples constantly inspire me with their unique and lavish ideas and push me to get better at my job with each wedding.
I was also inspired to become a wedding cinematographer by my own wedding experience. My wife and I eloped quietly in 2014 and didn't hire someone to film our celebration. It's one of my deepest regrets about our wedding day.
There's only so much our human brains can recall about the events we've experienced, and as the years go by I find those memories becoming buried behind new ones of our life with our 3 boys. I find it becoming more and more difficult to truly relive my wedding day through my own memory.
With over a decade of experience in film, I get to make magic for couples every day. Through my artistry, I get to give you a gift so incredibly special – the gift of being able to relive your wedding day for the rest of your life.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of such a momentous occasion, and for trusting me to be the one to preserve your very special day forever.
With love,
Dalton
Our couples are not average people, and they don’t want an average wedding Collection.
You’ll fit in perfectly here. I’d love to be your wedding cinematographer!
In my experience as a wedding videographer and photographer capturing weddings in Florida, I've learned that when it comes to wedding videographers, often couples are treated as a project. Many wedding videographers also split their time filming commercially or exclusively filming part-time.
When you work with me you get me 100%. Your experience is so much more than the film you'll receive once your wedding day is over.
I want you to feel as though we've known each other forever by the time you walk down the aisle because being comfortable with me is key to getting a genuine reaction on film. You don't need to stress or feel uncomfortable.
I'm not going to make you pose uncomfortably or act out events that didn’t actually happen. Instead, I'll stay out of the way and capture everything with a keen eye. It will be as if you're experiencing your wedding day from your own memory.
I am always responsive and accommodating to your needs. Your wedding day should be all about you, and I’m dedicated to making your wedding film reflect that experience.
Dalton was the perfect choice for our wedding. He was responsive, adaptable, professional, and enjoyable to be around. He captured our day beautifully. As an artist myself, I was impressed by his detailed and visionary work and the timeframe he was able to complete our incredible video within. My husband and I highly recommend him for any special occasion!
Dalton is a great guy and great at what he does! He answered any questions we had, arrived earlier than planned, and had our video finished in 13 DAYS! The video exceeded our expectations and we are so glad we have this option to rewatch our day over and over again!
Dalton is extremely professional. He takes great pride in his work and is very helpful. He makes certain to capture all the important moments at your event while still getting all the action going on around you. We are very happy with the final results. Forever memories. He was great.
My wife was really the one to do the wedding planning but this guy showed up on the wedding day, put a mic on me, and was so kind, following us around for every moment of the wedding day! He returned a professionally edited video to us just a month after the wedding day, and we were very impressed! I highly recommend.
When my wife and I got engaged, we knew we wanted to have a videographer capture our special day. Dalton with Dalton Young Weddings was recommended to us. Shortly after working with Dalton, we understood why. His priority was to ensure that he captured what was most important to us, from pre-wedding preparation with the bride, groom and attendants, to the wedding ceremony, and wedding reception. Dalton captured moments for us that we weren’t able to see ourselves with everything going on and did a tremendous job! Cannot say enough about the quality of this vendor and the product that they deliver! Highly recommend a videographer to future couples and Dalton with Dalton Young Weddings.
We are so happy we went with Dalton as our videographer! If you don’t think you need one for your wedding, think again. We were thrilled with the highlight video he made for our wedding! He really caught great moments, and I didn’t even notice he was filming most of the wedding because he was so discreet. I highly recommend his services!
What matters most to me:
— My beautiful wife and 3 boys – they’re my whole world.
— Getting to live and work in the Destin area year-round. I love being able to share my home with couples who come here from all over the US to get married.
— Being fully invested in your unique vision from the moment your inquiry comes into my inbox.
As much as you try to prepare for everything, something will not go perfectly according to plan on your wedding day. Having a wedding videographer and wedding photographer that can stick to a strict schedule but also be flexible when things change is super important.
I film with a photojournalism style, meaning I capture things as they are. When working with me, my priority is capturing all of the realness of your wedding day and all of the emotions that go along with it – including when things don't go according to plan.
With over a decade of experience, I’ve found that often your favorite memories come from the things that didn’t go according to plan.
Maybe the ring bearer decided halfway down the aisle that they were going to turn around and run the other direction, pillow in hand. Perhaps your precious pup wouldn't sit still for any pictures and instead went up to try to lick the photographer's camera.
These are the unique memories that make your wedding day special. And I am there to capture them all.
As a full-time wedding cinematographer and wedding photographer, I spend a lot of time with wedding galleries. When I’m not filming and editing, I’m sharing photos and films to Instagram. This is a great place to go if you want to get an idea of my filming style. I’d love to connect with you there!
